Nartech Metal Products LTD

During the summer of 2022, I accepted a position as a Production Technician at Nartech Metal Products LTD, a company primarily focused on automotive manufacturing, with a primary emphasis on stamping and welding processes. While this wasn't the engineering internship I had initially aimed for that summer, it provided me with valuable exposure to the fundamental aspects of working within a manufacturing setting.

At Nartech, a diverse range of presses was employed to manufacture various products. My role involved working with a spectrum of equipment, including Dual ram transfer presses and fully robotic tandem press lines. This experience offered me a comprehensive understanding of the nature of manufacturing. Our tasks encompassed producing automotive components such as sunroof parts, body side panels, dash panels, and a wide array of other components.

During my time at Nartech, I was introduced to resistance spot welding for the first time. Back then, I had little knowledge of what it entailed or how it operated. However, as I went back to school and conducted labs on the subject, I came to appreciate the privilege of gaining hands-on experience with this technique during my time at the company. I can proudly say that I participated in the welding of over 100,000 parts during my time at Nartech, and I am grateful for the opportunity to learn beyond the classroom.
